I hate this drawing. Seriously. But I tried 4 times with different sparkler pictures of my kids and I just…can’t today. I know exactly how I’d do this if I could erase, but you can’t with ink. And so here’s this silly little cartoony image of a scared outlet from this photo by Clint Patterson.

Plug It In, Plug It In!

A submission for the prompt “Spark”

Sometimes you need to force it
you need to get off your lazy ass
and plug the thing in.
It doesn’t go the way you want,
the words don’t flow nicely,
your jaw hurts too much sitting this way
and your hands clench up from arthritis
and you didn’t sleep well last night,
but you need to do it anyway.
